Next Steps for the Foundation
Now the hard work begins. Work on the Foundation started in 2008, but took a back seat while the founder rebounded from the economic events that rocked the U.S.. We are now back to work on incorporation, registering for non-profit status, registering trademarks, and building the base of volunteer photojournalists to carry out our primary mission. Non-profit status will afford donors tax deductions for gifts to enable the programs 1 Life 1000 Words is developing.
A big thank you goes out to the Kelley School of Business MBA class of 2001 for stepping up to make raising the seed money to accomplish these steps as a class project for their tenth reunion. Getting these formative steps completed opens the door for additional fund raising to fulfill all three missions of the Foundation.
